so i just had a very enlightening conversation with my bff where apparently some idiot told her that gwyn and az can never be a thing because gwyn had been sexually assaulted and azriel is freak in the sheets so they aren’t compatible, so the obvious course is elriel. 

first of all, what makes them think elain could handle az? i mean no judging but elain blushed when she saw women wearing tight pants at a war camp. 

second of all, if gwnriel were to happen, why are they just automatically chalking up their relationship to just pure sex? i mean this isn’t nessain right here lmao

if gwynriel were to happen, their relationship wouldn’t just be physical, but hopefully go beyond that. 

they also just implied that since az is a freak in the sheets, he doesn’t want a SA person. which is disgusting, because why are we talking about az as if he was this horny mf 24/7? just because of one chapter? get over it. 

they talk as if Az isn’t capable of seeing a woman without wanting to fuck her, i mean in the little moments we see of him and gwyn, we see him be kind, and gentle and cautious with her, because he was the one who had saved her from sangravah. 

azriel also has women in his life who have been hurt by men, i.e. Morrigan, Feyre, Nesta, and his mother. what makes them think az would look at gwyn and only see her as a SA victim. 

it’s also disgusting to say gwyn cant be involved physically with someone because of that assault, as if her trauma defines her, and her future. 

honestly, make arguments about who you ship azriel with, but don’t stoop this low. they’re fictional characters yes, but fictional characters are also based on real events, real people who have gone through what these characters have experienced. 

if you tell someone that gwyn cant have a sexual relationship with a man because of her trauma, you’re essentially telling every SA survivor , that their trauma defines them and their body. 

do better.

Just finished A Court of Silver Flames....🔥 loved it! Couldn’t stop thinking of this paring though, even before I read the extra scene. I just think they were cute together and I feel like Azriel deserves to find a mate of his own and I just loooovved how his shadows danced with her 😭😭 find it interesting how his shadows always ran from Elain but are curious about Gwyn... anywhooo...hope you like this drawing I did in an effort to purge myself of this book hangover. It could do with cleaning up but I’ve been putting off client work and I’m starting to feel guilty spending so much time on this 😅 Edit: I forgot Azriel doesn’t have the pointy ears 😭😅 my bad!
