Let’s be honest. The only reason people have become so obsessed and attached to gywnriel is because they hate Elain. If they didn’t hate her I highly doubt that gywnriel would be little more then a crack ship. In my opinion the only reason they hate Elain is because she’s soft and considered very feminine which translates to boring for most people.
I like Gywn. But she’s a side character and while she is amazing, there is nothing to suggest that she is going to play a main role in the next book which will be about ELAIN. SJM is giving each sister their own book and their own love and Elains love is going to Azriel. There are so many signs and hints about those two and so many signs that Elain and Lucien just will not work out.
Elain doesn’t LOVE or WANT him and I am confident that Lucien isn’t in love with Elain. SJM started planning these books almost four years ago and while Elains book is the next one, I really think Luciens might be ACOTAR 6 where he will find his own love (Vassa?) AND deal with his parentage and his birthright.

Gwyn a “side character” had more page time then Elain, we’ve gotten to known her more in one book than Elain in the whole series. You can’t say Gwyn won’t get a book because she’s a side character when Elain has less content than her.
And as for people “hating Elain” what’s wrong with that? I think hate is a bit of a strong word but disliking Elain is okay. And if they ship gwyn and azriel then it’s just that not some anti-Elain agenda. Chill it, it’s okay to dislike characters.
