Everyone thinks my version of Cardan looks like Cassian, so why not do him too? Thought I’d take a stab at straight-up digital colour over a pencil drawing, and it came out looking kind of like a page from a comic book. imagine for elucien’s book we get flashbacks. the two would secretly meet to just get to know each other, get to know the person that is their equal

flashbacks to when they weren’t together but thinking of each other, like happy that they have a secret friend. bond aside. they may not be really close friends because they can’t spend a lot of time together but what they share with each other means a lot to the other.
Lucien understands that a mating bond is a very big fucking deal and it must feel even bigger to elian who is new to the fae world so he wants to help her adjust to it as much as possible. and even though she hasn’t accepted the bond he is relieved by that because it is a big deal for him, not just that it’s a mating bond but that he’s had people he loves or cares about be ripped from him, killed, or he’s had to be separated from, so he wants to know if being with elain is worth the pain. not if she is worth it or not, but if he can handle being in love again because being in love and being loved and having a mating bond is the most beautiful and wonderful thing but it can also be horrific if something happens to your mate. on top of all the shit he’s been through going at straight into such a deep and powerful thing may be too much at first.

okay but I want gwyn and az to for some reason not feel the bond snap until towards the very end. I want them to already be lovers and question why they haven’t felt the bond yet, because that only means that their love and connection to one another is stronger than any other pair because even without the bond snapping into place they were already doing “mate like” things and they would just be a very powerful and very much in love couple
(also gwyn at solstice would end me)
